Description

The planetary nebula HDW 2 (Hartl-Dengl-Weinberger 2) was wrongly included by Sharpless in his catalog of bright nebulae as Sh-200. Its nature was not confirmed until 2017. It is a very old planetary, with a very tenuous gas environment. Despite its age, it contains very energetic central stars, remnants of the central star that died. These stars are capable of ionizing the surrounding gas. The common name Bearclaw Nebula is also used for the Cat's Paw Nebula located in Scorpio (NGC 6334).The processing was long. Compositing with RGB filters was used only to show the stars with their color. For the R channel, the images taken with the Ha filter were used. The B channel was composed with OIII images. The G channel was composed of 70% OIII images and 30% images taken with the G filter.
